What’s Up Wednesday – Canis Lupis and ...

Happy Wednesday/Powder Day everyone! Hope you all have been able to enjoy the recent snowfall we’ve had this week. I know I have!  Get ready for an awesome weekend here at Canyons Resort, as well as around town, as there are a ton of things going on.   The weather is looking to be warm and sunny, so head to the slopes and get your goggle tan on!

AT CANYONS

In the old days, it was called The Natural (natural halfpipe) and the James Bond Trail (for resembling a banked bobsled run). Call it what you will, Canis Lupus is a 1/4 mile-long gulley that serves up gated, banked slalom berms off the start, steep walls, whoops and break-overs the rest of the way down.  Sounds like a crazy ride, am I right? Imagine a group of insane skiers and riders flying down this run at top speed during the annual Canis Lupis Race!  This Saturday, show us your skill and enter to take home the glory.  Event starts at 11am, and check-in is between 8-9am.  Checkout our Events page for more information.

Who doesn’t feel the need for speed every once in awhile? On Sunday, Canyons is hosting The Audi Ski Challenge, which is a ski racing competition that brings together local ski racing fans in support of Audi and the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. This event is open to the public (skiers only, please), and the top two winners will win an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime trip to race with the U.S. Ski Team at the U.S. Alpine Championships. More information on registration and prizes can be found here: http://www.canyonsresort.com/content/audi-ski-challenge

Ravens fans and 49ers fans have been waiting for this day all season!  After you get your Sunday turns in, head to the nearest restaurant to catch the game while you enjoy some après drinks and good food. Red Tail Grill, Drafts, Murdock’s, Umbrella Bar, and The Farm lounge will all be showing the game.  Kick-off is at 4:30pm MST.
